Tomorrow marks the final regular season road game of Mike Krzyzewski's storied career, and who better to play it against than Pittsburgh? The Panthers are led by former Blue Devil player and associate head coach Jeff Capel. He took over the program in 2018-2019 after leaving Krzyzewski's staff. Now, Capel gets to host his former coach and mentor one last time Tuesday night.
The Blue Devils are following a dominant win at Syracuse, which marked their sixth consecutive win. Now, with a win the Blue Devils can secure at least a share of the ACC Regular Season Championship for the first time since 2010. A win over UNC in Krzyzewski's final game in Cameron on Saturday would secure their first outright regular season title since 2006. The Blue Devils would also lock up the number one seed in next week's ACC Tournament with a win at Pitt.
A regular season championship banner would be a spectacular parting gift from Capel to Krzyzewski. But don't get me wrong, the Blue Devils will have to earn the win. Still, it is an emotional time for Duke fans as Coach K's final week of regular season basketball is upon us. We can only wish for this week to go by slowly.
