PREVIEW (WBB): Marquee Matchup at Notre Dame for sole control of ACC top spot

By: Ben McCormick

February 5, 2023

The No. 16 Duke Blue Devils (19-3, 9-2) travel to South Bend, Ind., to play the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (18-3, 9-2). This game will determine which team sits alone atop the ACC standings heading into the final six games of the season.

Duke, who is coming off a loss to Florida State a week ago and an ugly win over Pittsburgh on Thursday is hoping it's offense can get back on track for Sunday's important matchup in South Bend. But for Duke this game will come down to how well it can defend, as usual. Containing sophomore Olivia Miles will be key for Duke. Miles is averaging 15.3 PPG and just over 7 rebounds and assists as well.

Duke will need solid offensive production from Shayeann Day-Wilson and Celeste Taylor, who seldom have big games on the same night, but if there's ever a time for them to simultaneously go off in scoring—today's that day.
