1st Half
It was a cold start offensively for Duke, but the same can't be said for the Hokies. Virginia Tech got out to a 23-11 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Much like in Duke's previous three losses, its struggle came at the hands of its inability to completely contain the opposing offense. Unlike last time against the Hokies, Duke failed to stop Elizabeth Kitley, who equaled Duke's first quarter scoring by herself with 11 points.
Although Duke's defense took a step in the right direction in the second quarter, it's offense was abysmal. The Blue Devils scored just three points in the entire second quarter, leading to just 14 at the half as Duke trailed 33-14.
2nd Half
The second half was much of the same offensive struggle, and for the fourth time this season, Duke's opponent scored over 60 points. And for the fourth time this season, Duke lost.
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Celeste Taylor (12 PTS)
